Young’s Kingdom provides the local community with programmes that responds to not only the intellectual and physical needs of children, but also to their growing social and emotional needs. Like flowers in a well-tended garden, each child is given a special place to develop and blossom at their own individual pace. The Taman Setia Eco Cascadia branch is a home away from home for children 3 to 6 years old and each child is respected for their own unique contribution to this dream educational kingdom. The school functions in the spirit of a family, synchronising the school experience with the home experience. There is open communication and cooperative exchange between the teachers and parents. Together, they help build a solid foundation for future learning for the children.
Nothing speaks louder about Young’s Kingdom than their teachers. They support the development of children’s intellectual, cognitive, language, social, emotional and physical skills, while managing the daily operations safely and responsibly. They are attentive to each child’s individual needs and the challenges that they face. They actively encourage and motivate children to value their own ideas, express their minds, focus to become good at something, learn to work together as a team and to practice confident leadership skills. Teachers demonstrate improved classroom management and teaching practice skills from the monthly training sessions and other workshops that they attend regularly. Additionally, its headquarters are continually re-evaluating how to make the whole learning experience better, bridging the gap between “what children learn” and “how teachers teach".
Half and full day multi-sensory programmes are designed for curious, excited sponge brains that are hungry to explore everything, and learn about themselves and the world around them. Varied themes through an integrated learning continuum exposes children to a broad range of disciplinary areas – language and literacy, mathematical and logical thinking, scientific knowledge, moral development, bodily kinesthetic and physical development skills, art, and whole brain development.
Teachers plan activities that address the developmental needs of the whole child and use their creative skills to make learning fun and interesting. A hands-on, interactive environment that is rich in materials and resources offers children opportunities to play, gain confidence in their abilities and learn from each other. On a typical day, children get to strengthen their gross motor skills through physical exercises, engage in dramatic play, enjoy books and stories, stimulate their minds through multi-sensory activities and games, and gain fundamental knowledge in key subject areas. They build essential skills that will carry them through to primary school and life in the future. They learn to communicate, socialise, make positive choices and express their minds. They develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Above all, the learning experiences inspire a strong sense of leadership, teamwork and collaborative skills.
School life is very busy at Young’s Kingdom so maintaining well-established safety procedures is identified as the top priority of the management. The spaces are designed to keep children safe with child-sized furnishings, carpeted stairs and special impact-absorbing flooring to reduce injury risks, daily health screenings, full coverage CCTV surveillance system, and strict fire and emergency precautions.
Young’s Kingdom is recognised for their valuable contributions to the local early educational landscape and has worked hard to win the Sin Chew Outstanding Early Childhood Education Providers Award. To Young’s Kingdom, children are the most important and the team gives children every opportunity to gain all the skills that they need to be successful, happy individuals in the future.
