Mid Valley City is one of Kuala Lumpur’s premier commercial and retail hubs, but despite its strategic location, choices for childcare centres around the area are rather limited.
Enter Choo Choo Train Baby & Childcare Centre at Boulevard Office, Mid Valley. Newly opened in 2024, the establishment offers peace of mind for parents looking for a safe, stimulating, and loving environment where their little ones can grow and thrive.
The licensed centre is part of the established Choo Choo Train childcare brand, which has branches across the Klang Valley. It accepts infants from eight weeks old and children up to four years old, providing a warm and cosy space where children can learn, socialise, and interact with their peers.
Choo Choo Train Baby & Childcare Centre is located on the first floor of an office building, adjacent to Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall. Its large space features a clean and contemporary design, with brightly lit rooms that are filled with interesting and engaging learning materials as well as toys.
The centre prioritises safety and cleanliness, so all materials are sanitised regularly, and the premises are equipped with child-proof gates in addition to padded walls. There is also an indoor playground and dedicated areas for infant care, complete with changing and shower stations, facilities like bottle sterilisers, and storage options for nursing mothers.
Staff members are trained with the proper childcare certification and first aid knowledge. They are dedicated to creating a safe and homely environment for children, ensuring each child receives the care and attention they deserve.
The full day programme runs from 8am to 6pm and includes fresh and balanced meals cooked in-house daily making it a convenient and attractive childcare option for working parents in the area.
The first few years of a child’s life are the golden window of opportunity in their development, where they absorb knowledge and skills like a sponge. To leverage on this period, Choo Choo Train offers comprehensive programmes tailored to meet the needs of children at each level, from infancy up to preschool age.
Choo Choo Cuddle (0-6 months): This programme is ideal for babies who are just starting to become independent from their mothers. They will enjoy gentle activities such as massage, sensory stimulation, and early social interactions. Through activities such as Baby Zen, Baby Touch, Baby Music, and Baby Gym, babies will be able to move better, explore their senses, and build strong emotional connections.
Choo Choo Explorer 1(7 - 12 months): For little ones at this stage, it’s all about discovering their bodies and what they can do. The programme focuses on helping develop important physical skills such as crawling and standing, in addition to honing early language skills through storytelling, communication, and reading to the toddlers.
Choo Choo Explorer 2 (13-18 months): As toddlers become better at moving around, the programme expands its activities to include walking, hopping, and running within a safe environment. Additionally, they are provided with materials and toys, as well as activities to help them develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills, whilst improving their communication and comprehension of languages.
Choo Choo Explorer 3 (19-24 months): Children at this stage will have greater physical capabilities, so the programme will focus on nurturing them to become better communicators, guiding them to socialise, make friends, express themselves in different ways, and being kind and helpful to one another. They are introduced to structured learning in areas such as language, maths, and science. The children will also be toilet trained, taking a positive step towards independence.
Choo Choo Discoverer (25 months to 36 months): With the child well on their way in hitting developmental milestones, the focus shifts to encouraging learning through play. Thematic lessons draw elements from both national and international early childhood education curriculum standards. Some of the activities and lessons that they can look forward to include Early Language Lab-English, Early Maths Adventure, Early Science Sparks, Early Art and Creations, Water Play, Sand Play, and Fun with Food.
Choo Choo Quest (36-48 months) A natural progression to the previous stage, this pre-kindergarten programme prepares children for formal kindergarten and focuses on fundamental skills such as socialisation, as well as basic literacy and numeracy. That doesn’t mean it’s all books and studying: activities are play-based, enabling children to have fun and feel engaged.
Choo Choo Train Baby & Childcare Centre is well-equipped to care for children’s needs, but also supports them in other aspects of their growth as well, readying them for kindergarten. Throughout the age groups, the centre emphasises holistic learning across different areas, be it personal, social, physical, or emotional development.
By integrating different aspects such as imaginative play and music and movement with activities like painting, drawing, storytelling, and singing, the programmes are designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in children.
