Our society is fast-changing and our future is unpredictable. In order to successfully navigate through a technology-rich work environment, it is essential to ensure that the rising generation of children are equipped with the right type of skills. MRC Kids & JSP, Bandaraya Impiana Ipoh rightly is one school that strives to do so. A signature feature of MRC Kid’s schools is the large, open-plan learning area. The space is flexible and can be rearranged to cater to different activities. Children are placed in small groups and they really enjoy the vibrant environment where they can collaborate with their friends and approach different teachers for help throughout the day. This layout also strengthens children’s ability to focus on their designated tasks, while teachers feel the support of working in a team.
Teachers here shift away from the traditional approaches to teaching. They do not just stand in front of four-walled classrooms and dictate instructions for children to follow. Children are introduced to numerous core subject areas, as shown in the table below, that are linked to our national preschool curriculum (Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah Kebangsaan [KSPK]). They are taught in various creative ways through drama and speech, Super Memory Map, project-based learning, and interactive activities that bring life into the lessons. They are further exposed to acquire new skills such as abacus and mental arithmetic, and also by getting out and experiencing what they are learning about. Of equal significance, teachers take the effort to instill good moral and character values in children by being their role models.
The MRC Kids programme provides a good range of skills and knowledge to prepare children for primary school, while giving them ample opportunities to discover their passions.

Being part of the SMM Education Group, there is a strong emphasis on helping children uncover their talents and develop potential interests. A nationwide annual drama and talent competition is held for children to showcase their skills from singing to memorizing flazzle cards.
