Tadika Sri Mentari Ria, Puchong Prima, provides preschool and day care services for young children. The centre aims to equip students with important academic skills, and nurture individuals who are independent and well-disciplined.
Children ages 2 to 3 will join the centre’s taska programme, where learning is inspired by the Montessori approach. Kids here engage in hands-on, multisensorial learning, that encourages curiosity and discovery.
Older children ages 4 to 6 take part in a more academic curriculum that fosters independence and self-discipline. All students, no matter their ethnicity, learn three languages at the preschool: Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin.
Furthermore, students here have the option to join an afternoon session that lasts up to 6.30pm. During this time, kids get help with revision or finish their homework.
Tadika Sri Mentari Ria also has enrichment classes such as piano, ukulele, art & crafts, and tuition for language subjects.
The preschool has smaller classes (with a maximum of 15 children per class), which enable more individual attention for students. The centre’s founder, Ms Janice, believes in never giving up on children, even if they struggle to keep up with their peers.
It is important to her that teachers here don’t compare kids to one another, and that all students are seen as unique individuals who are deserving of support and love.
The centre has plenty of space for children to exercise, move around and have heaps of fun. Kids here have supervised access to a swimming pool (surrounded by fencing) and swimming lessons. There is also an outdoor playground and a gardening section.
Opposite the preschool, there is a big field where children can run and develop their motor skills.
Other than that, the centre also has four large washrooms for children, separate learning areas for the two different age groups, and computers for students to use.
Kids here learn in a very clean and safe environment. The preschool hires a dedicated cleaner who does a full daily cleaning of the premise. There is also an ionic air purifier to keep the indoor air fresh.
Besides that, kids here are regularly encouraged to wash their hands and practice good hygiene. The food provided to children at the preschool is also prepared in a sanitary manner.
In terms of security, teachers here follow a routine that involves them waiting outside the centre’s gate every morning, to greet and bring kids in when they are dropped off at 7.30am.
By 8.30am, the preschool’s gate is locked, and no outsider is allowed in.
When it is nearing the end of the day, kids will wait in the centre until their parents arrive for pickup time. If anyone other than parents are sent to receive the kids, the preschool will not release the child unless they have confirmation and identification from parents beforehand.
Teachers here are qualified and highly experienced. Many have stayed with the preschool for at least ten years, which underscores their dedication and the positive learning environment that is present at Tadika Sri Mentari Ria.
Notably, Ms Janice assigns teachers to teach specific subjects, which allows them to master their specialisations. Teachers here are guided by Ms Janice, who has been trained in the field of early childhood education.
The team at Tadika Sri Mentari Ria work hard to build strong relationships with students, while showing patience, love, and humility.
It is clear that this preschool truly cares for young children.
