Established in January 2025, this is the first nursery under the well-established Hankidz brand, a name already trusted for over 13 years in Malaysia for its leadership-focused preschools and enrichment programmes.

Every morning begins with a ritual at the Affirmation Mirror. Babies are greeted warmly, held close, and guided to look at themselves in the mirror while teachers speak powerful affirmations such as: “You are kind. You are brave. You are loved.”
“This routine may look simple, but it builds the child’s identity and confidence from the very beginning,” shared Ms. Yan. “When a child hears positive words daily, they internalise them. They start to see themselves as capable and worthy.”
This practice reflects Hankidz’ belief that self-leadership begins with self-identity. By nurturing children’s confidence in this way, Hankidz lays the groundwork for strong communication skills and emotional intelligence later in life.
2. Baby-Led Weaning (BLW): Independence Through Everyday Habits
The second distinctive feature is the adoption of Baby-Led Weaning (BLW), a method rarely found in nurseries because of the mess it creates. At Hankidz, however, the priority is always the child’s development, not convenience.
Instead of spoon-feeding, babies from seven months are encouraged to feed themselves by grabbing food with their little hands, chewing even without teeth, and enjoying food at their own pace.
“Yes, it’s messy, but it trains independence, fine motor skills, and even language development,” explained Ms. Yan. “Chewing solid food activates the oral muscles, which are linked to stronger language skills later on. Plus, BLW children tend to be more independent and confident.”
3. Parent Support System: Empowering Families
The third pillar is a robust Parent Support System. Recognising that leadership training doesn’t stop at the nursery door, Hankidz equips parents with workshops, one-on-one coaching, and daily tips on how to reinforce the same principles at home.
For example, parents receive guidance on how to prepare BLW-friendly meals or handle common challenges like tantrums and clinginess. The nursery also keeps parents updated in real time through the LittleLives app and face-to-face communication at drop-off and pick-up.
“Parenting is a journey we walk together,” said Ms. Yan. “When home and school are aligned, the child grows with consistency. We don’t just nurture the child, we coach the parents too.”
A Holistic, Hygienic, and Safe Environment

From tummy time and messy play to themed explorations of animals and nature, activities are hands-on and designed to stimulate curiosity.
