Introduction

ABOUT US
Since 1986, The children’s house is proud to be introduced as the first ever Montessori preschool in Malaysia. With over 30 years of history and 13 schools across Klang Valley, we’ve gained the trust and recognition of parents in nurturing children into compassionate and well-balanced individuals who are confident, independent, socially adaptable, and above all, positive and lifelong learners.

The Montessori Approach
The Montessori curriculum is scientifically proven, well over 100 years old, respected and accepted internationally. At The children’s house, children learn through a variety of activities:

Activities are designed in such that children will be able to imitate physical tasks which aims to develop the child’s concentration, coordination of movement, sense of order and above all, independence.

Concrete learning materials such as number boards are used to introduce the concept of numbers from the easiest counting to the more complex concepts such as place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions.

Using their stereognostic sense, language materials aim to enhance the children’s ability to form letter through specific hands-on materials such as sandpaper letters or alphabet blocks. Phonetic awareness enables children to form simple words and eventually complex sentences.

Culture activities enable children to understand and gain knowledge of the world. Not only through music and arts, but also through topics such as biology, zoology, botany, geography and history.

Sensorial materials aim to refine each of the children’s senses - sight, touch, smell, taste, sound and stereognostic.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED
The children’s house offers a nurturing, non-competitive learning environment which aims to meet the individual needs of each child in his physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Our low teacher to child ratio also promotes an optimal learning environment.

Our programmes which vary across centres are divided into two groups: Montessori Playgroup and Montessori Junior.

The Montessori Playgroup programme is offered to children aged 2 months to 2.5 years old.

Infant Care

(2 months and above)

Adopting the award-winning infant care curriculum developed by Learning Vision in Singapore, a member of Busy Bees Asia family, the programme is holistic and emphasises on the development of infants’ emerging physical, sensory-motor, perceptual, cognitive, language and social-emotional skills. The environment is designed to respect, support and respond to baby’s sensorial development.

Toddler

(18months – 2.5 years old)

The Toddler’s programme takes advantage of the child’s natural drive to act independently. The prepared environment is meticulously designed to foster toddlers’ cognitive, speech and language development, strengthen fine motor skills, grace and courtesy and promote independence. Art and music are woven into each day with songs, dances and art is always available to each child.

The Montessori Junior programme is offered to children aged 2.6 years to 6 years. These programmes are interconnected and they focus on preparing the children to the next level. Not only that, while children build their strengths on language, mathematics, spatial learning, self-discovery, music, art, and other intellectual developments, children will also be nurtured with values such as grace and courtesy, table manners, etiquette, personal hygiene, preparing them not just for schools, but for life.

It’s almost been 3 months since Ashlyn started big school and she’s enjoying herself immensely. It is the love and confidence given to Ashlyn at The children’s house by the Aunties in her first year of structure schooling. For that, I’m so grateful that she remembers the values and principles your establishment hold so dear- so that speaks volumes! Our heartiest thanks and warmest regards to all the Aunties and Thank you for being a part of us!
