Task & Responsibilities
A. Teaching & Learning
- Teach children aged 2–6 years.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroom activities.
- Plan and conduct morning lessons and afternoon activities.
- Conduct lessons in Mandarin / English / Bahasa Malaysia when required.
- Support children’s literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social-emotional development through play-based learning.
- Update children’s lessons, learning progress, and daily routines in the school parent communication app.
B. Child Safety & Wellbeing
- Ensure children’s safety, hygiene, and overall wellbeing at all times.
- Supervise meals, toileting, and nap time.
- Observe, record, and report children’s developmental progress and behaviour.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised classroom environment.
C. Parent Communication
- Provide professional and clear communication with parents.
- Communicate with parents during drop-off and pick-up time regarding children’s daily updates and learning progress.
- Update parents through the school app regarding children’s learning activities and daily routine.
- Prepare progress summaries, portfolios, and reports.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings when required.
- Build positive and supportive parent-teacher relationships.
D. School Operations & Events
- Support school events, celebrations, open days, and educational trips when required.
- Assist with marketing activities, roadshows, photos/videos, and school tours when needed.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Support tasks assigned by management when necessary.
E. Professional Conduct
- Demonstrate a responsible, cooperative, and positive work attitude.
- Uphold Fireflies’ values of care, safety, and creativity.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding children, parents, and school matters.
- Show commitment and teamwork during school events and open days.
- Maintain confidentiality & professionalism
- Must possess at least a KAP PERMATA certificate and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education will be an advantage, Diploma in Nursing.
- At least 1 to 2 years' experience in childhood or preschool.
- Must be able to communicate (speaking, reading & writing) English, Bahasa Malaysia.
- Must be able to communicate (speaking, reading & writing) in Mandarin for Mandarin Teacher.
- Strong child development & play-based learning knowledge.
- First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain).
- Responsible, caring & team-oriented.
