Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Academic Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The Academic Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting children’s developmental growth, and creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering children's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development through structured learning and play-based activities.
• Capable of creating comprehensive and effective lesson plans for educational purposes.
• Proficiency in spoken English is a prerequisite for this role.
• Motivate and stimulate a child's learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience.
• Assist with the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities.
• Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources.
• Implementing lessons and work schemes, using the Early Years Foundation Stage as a framework.
• Plan the lesson and prepare learning materials.
• Write evaluation of each session.
• Build and maintain relationships with parents.
• Monitor children’s progress, value and behavioural observation and take necessary action to make sure children development is inline with their age.
• Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities.
• Keep up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
• Providing a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning.
• Promote positive behaviour from children and to assist in establishing good standards of behaviour throughout the daily routine.
• Contribute to effective team practice by attending and participating in staff meetings and in-service training.
• Maintain high levels of confidentiality both in and out of school.
• Plan and monitor potty-trained and independence eating.
• Clean, disinfect and keep toys and learning materials.
• Responsible for undertaking any additional duties assigned by a superior as needed.
Job Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare centre, or daycare is required.
- Able to communicate effectively in English and Mandarin (to communicate with children and parents).
- Passionate about working with infants and young children.
- Patient, caring, and nurturing personality.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and learning through play.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with parents and colleagues.
- Responsible and attentive to children’s safety, hygiene, and well-being.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Well-organised and capable of maintaining a clean and structured learning environment.
- Willing to participate in training and follow the centre’s teaching guidelines and curriculum.
Salary Range
RM 1,800 - RM 2,400
