Wee Rays, a special needs centre founded in 2022 with a purpose far deeper than education or therapy. While growth is not inherently bad, she worries about centres becoming overly business-oriented. “It’s good for businesses to thrive, but if the booming business trend starts deducting the quality of services, then there is a problem. Working with special needs children is delicate. You need passion, not just profit.”
She also highlights the financial strain on families, as therapy is resource-heavy and often not covered by insurance, leaving many parents feeling helpless.
