Pusat Tuisyen Ilmu Gemilang is a daycare and tuition centre that provides comprehensive educational support and childcare services for children aged 5 to 17 years old.
Nestled in the heart of Eco Majestic, an exclusive and growing township in Semenyih, the centre is well-equipped to serve the needs of young families in the area, thanks to its well-rounded approach to child development and child care.
Pusat Tuisyen Ilmu Gemilang welcomes children from various educational levels and curricula, including preschool, primary school (SK & SJKC) and secondary school (SMK & IGSCE). More than just a tuition centre, it offers a homely, structured environment that includes lunch, bath time, and guided homework sessions.
The centre operates from 8 am to 10 pm daily, except on public holidays and weekends, so parents can be rest assured that every aspect of their child’s wellbeing is taken care of while they are at work.
The children get to enjoy a balanced diet through nutritious meals prepared fresh in-house, with at least one vegetable and one protein dish. Transport services are available too, ensuring that the children are sent to or picked up from their respective schools safely.
Parents are kept updated on their child's daily routine through the Taidii app, an award-winning Singapore-based school management system. Through the app, parents can monitor their child's check-in and clock-out times at the centre.
Aside from taking care of the child’s everyday needs, tuition and homework revision is integrated into their daily routines. Tuition lasts for 1.5 hours, with an additional hour of revision based on topics the children have learned in school.
For younger children aged 5 and 6, the centre provides preparatory classes aimed at helping pupils brush up on their Mandarin skills, especially for those who are transitioning from English-based kindergartens to Chinese-medium (SJKC) schools.
“Mandarin proficiency is crucial for pupils enrolling in an SJKC school, as most subjects are taught in Mandarin, including Science and Mathematics,” says Pusat Tuisyen Gemilang founder, Ms. Amelinda Lee.
“Our preparatory classes are designed to immerse pupils in a Mandarin-rich environment, where they will learn not just the basics of the language such as writing strokes, forming words, and understanding grammar, but also skills like communication and listening,” she says.
For older children, the centre offers the full spectrum of subjects covered in the national syllabus, including Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, and more. Teachers are highly qualified with at least a diploma in their respective areas of expertise, while others are retired educators who are familiar with the national syllabus.
Ms. Lee herself is a seasoned educator and lecturer, with a PhD in Science Education. Her extensive experience includes a stint as faculty dean at a renowned local university, and she has written numerous books and courses for subjects such as Maths and Chemistry. Some of these are used as materials at the tuition centre.
For parents of children with special needs such as dyslexia and mild autism, Ms. Lee shares that they have successfully integrated dyslexic students back into normal school routines, thanks to specialised modules designed to address reading and writing challenges. This inclusive approach is supported by close cooperation with parents, creating a supportive learning environment tailored to the child’s needs.
While the term ‘tuition’ often conjures up images of students hunched over books and poring over worksheets, Ms. Lee believes in a more holistic and positive approach. Classrooms have a small ratio, not more than 15 pupils per session.
“Our focus is to build solid foundations and ensure students have a sound knowledge of subjects, rather than have them learn by rote. Even in group classes, we set aside time to do one-on-one coaching with children that are weak in certain areas,” she explains.
Recognising that a child’s development should not just be about studying, the centre allocates time for leisure and rest each day. Plans are in the works to convert one of the spaces into a relaxation zone, where there will be a reading corner and an area where the children can play board games and work on arts and crafts.
For parents who are looking for similar services in Bangi, Ms. Lee operates another centre, Pusat Tuisyen Ceria Hati, which offers the same high-quality daycare and tuition packages. Both centres operate during the school holidays, offering even more convenience and peace of mind to parents.
