In the heart of Tasik Prima, Puchong, Little Angel Kindergarten has long stood as a beacon of love-centred education, where children grow with confidence, curiosity, and compassion. Established in 2014 by Dr. Ho Jen Lian, a passionate educator with over 25 years of experience and a PhD in Education, the kindergarten continues to shape young lives through its guiding philosophy: “Holistic Fun Learning with Love.”
About Little Angel Kindergarten
Approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and JKM, Little Angel welcomes children aged 2 to 6 years into a warm, nurturing environment that feels like a second home. Each day begins with smiles and gentle routines that make every child feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.
Dr. Ho founded Little Angel with a heartfelt mission, to create a place that balances academic readiness with emotional wellbeing. “Early childhood,” she believes, “is where the heart of education truly begins.”
The kindergarten maintains a small teacher-student ratio (1:8 to 1:12) to ensure personalised attention. Teachers here are mentors, storytellers, and companions who make learning joyful.
The Philosophy Behind it
At the heart of Little Angel lies a simple but powerful belief: children learn best when they are happy, engaged, and emotionally supported.
Every classroom hums with laughter and discovery, where lessons extend far beyond the textbook. From music and movement to speech and drama, art, and sensory-based messy play, children express themselves freely, build self-confidence, and develop creativity through hands-on experiences.
Cultural appreciation is also woven naturally into learning. Located in multicultural Malaysia, the kindergarten celebrates Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya, and Merdeka. This teaches children to embrace diversity, respect differences, and grow into compassionate, open-minded global citizens.
The Learning Approach
Little Angel adopts a “Play. Explore. Grow.” approach, blending structured learning with exploration. Through thematic projects, sensory activities, and experiential tasks, children develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, creativity, and socio-emotional intelligence.
Recently, the school expanded its curriculum to include more outdoor experiential learning. Activities such as Family Camping, Picnics, and Messy Play Days provide children with the chance to connect with nature, express themselves freely, and build independence and teamwork.
These joyful events also strengthen the bond between home and school, where parents, teachers, and children laugh, learn, and grow together. The July 2025 Family Camping themed “Happy Parents Day” was one such heart-warming event that reminded families to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover love through shared moments.
At Little Angel, learning is not confined by walls, it is a living, breathing experience that nurtures joy, resilience, and belonging.
Defining a Successful Child
Dr. Ho believes that success is not defined by grades alone. A successful child cares for others, expresses confidently, and perseveres through challenges.
Little Angel nurtures five lifelong values that guide children beyond the classroom:
Kindness: Showing empathy and love in every action.
Confidence: Believing in themselves and face the world bravely.
Curiosity: Explore, ask questions, and enjoy learning.
Good Character and Manners: Act with respect and gratitude.
Independence: Develop life skills and adapt to new environments.
These values are at the heart of Little Angel’s approach, cultivating children who not only excel academically but grow into kind, confident, and capable individuals.
Dr. Ho’s own family story embodies this belief. Her son, now pursuing a PhD at the University of Adelaide, and her daughter, pursuing her Master’s degree at Fudan University in Shanghai, are living examples of how love-centred education creates balanced, accomplished adults.
Teachers Who Teach with Heart
At Little Angel, teaching is more than a profession – it is a calling rooted in love, creativity, and purpose. The school’s passionate teachers go beyond textbooks, bringing lessons to life through imagination and culture – for instance, using Wayang Kulit shadow play to tell the Mooncake Festival story, making learning joyful and meaningful.
Their warm, trusting relationships with children build confidence, belonging, and emotional security. This genuine care, creativity, and cultural richness are what truly set Little Angel Kindergarten apart from others.
Many teachers have been part of the Little Angel family for over a decade, with some serving alongside Dr. Ho for more than 22 years – a testament to the school’s loyalty, consistency, and heart. Every teacher also receives continuous training in early childhood education and emotional intelligence, growing together with the children they nurture.
Hygiene, Safety, and Nutritious Meals
Children’s wellbeing remains the top priority. The kindergarten upholds strict hygiene and safety standards, including daily sanitisation, temperature checks, and nutritious in-house cooked meals prepared under clean conditions.
Morning health screenings, UV sterilisation, and air purification systems are part of their daily routine, ensuring that every child learns in a safe, healthy, and happy environment. As Dr. Ho affirms, “A healthy environment builds a happy mind, and every happy mind leads to joyful learning.”
Parent Partnership
Education, at Little Angel, is a shared journey between parents, teachers, and children. Parents are viewed as active partners – not bystanders – in their child’s development. The school maintains open communication through daily updates, progress reports, and regular parent-teacher meetings.
Families are also invited to participate in hallmark events such as Parent Teachers Day, Annual Concerts, Family Camping, Festive Celebrations, and Messy Play Days. These meaningful gatherings create lasting memories, deepen trust, and strengthen the sense of togetherness between home and school. When parents and teachers grow together, education becomes a shared joy, and children flourish at the heart of that partnership.
Vision for Education and the Future
Dr. Ho believes that as Malaysia’s education landscape evolves, emotional, social, and character growth must stand alongside academics. True holistic education, she emphasises, nurtures the mind, heart, and spirit – grounded in moral values, cultural appreciation, and essential life skills.
At Little Angel Kindergarten, these values come alive daily through Malaysia’s colourful festivals, and lessons in etiquette, empathy, and gratitude. The aim is to raise children who are not only knowledgeable but also kind, respectful, and proud of their roots.
Looking ahead, Dr. Ho is developing Angel Academy, an online platform to empower parents and educators through workshops, training, and family-bonding experiences. It continues Little Angel’s mission to strengthen the bond between home and school, proving that when education and love walk hand in hand, every child shines brighter.
As Dr. Ho beautifully expresses it:
“The best education begins with love. Every smile we nurture today is the light that guides tomorrow.”
