Brainbow Kids, Subang Jaya

Brainbow Kids, Subang Jaya uses a proven art-based curriculum to empower children with Emotional Intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) tools to bring about positive changes in themselves and those around them. This is ideal for children who are experiencing stress, anxiety, perfectionism or negative thoughts. Children aged 3 years and above are welcome to enrol. Also, parents and anyone who works with children, especially teachers, will find EQ to be an essential tool when it comes to supporting children in their self-development journey. 

The centre was founded by Nandhini, a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach and NLP Kids Practitioner. She leverages her professional experience from being the Head of Technology and Architecture in the Oil and Gas industry to help children develop valuable life skills such as responsible decision making and creative problem solving. “We want children to experience this programme, connect with their true self, maximise their full potential, learn strategies to design a life they want, and Be Happy Through Colours,” says Nandhini.       

Brainbow Kids Programmes

At Brainbow Kids, there are two powerful programmes to choose from: Rainbow Adventure (ages 3-7) and SuperPower Me (ages 7+). During these weekly lessons, children will embark on a fun course that comprises the following different elements:

• Essential life skill activities – Children will be given plenty of opportunities to learn and practise skills through engaging activities like games and interactive music sessions. They will be presented based on different themes that are interesting and relevant to the children’s age groups.   

• Character building storytelling – Delightful stories will be used to teach important values and morals to children. This usually makes a fantastic starting point for reflective questions and thoughtful conversions.  

• Art and craft projects – From paper marbling to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, children will discover endless ways to get creative. Due to the COVID-19 movement control mandate, lessons are held online via Zoom. Children will receive craft kits that include specially curated high-quality materials and easy-to-follow video tutorials.   

Brainbow Box

Brainbow Kids also offers monthly subscription craft boxes called the Brainbow Box. Each box is filled with materials, worksheets and video guides that are children-tested for maximum fun and engagement. Sample projects include modelling clay name boards, DIY boardgames, sensory jars and terrarium sand art. They inspire creativity, and is more than just fun in arts and crafts. Children and teachers will meet up every month for a group coaching session that fosters emotional intelligence and crucial character building values in children.

On a side note, with every purchase of a Brainbow Box, a portion of the proceeds goes towards planting tree saplings in Borneo.

Develop Skills to Achieve Great Things in Life

When children participate in these hands-on, experiential learning opportunities, they develop leadership attributes and qualities at an early age. They will be equipped with a toolbox of skills that can change their insecurities and help them navigate around challenges to accomplish their goals and excel in life. While some children do have these innate abilities by nature, others need to nurtured and role modeled. Here, they expose children to opportunities and an environment conducive to helping them maintain a resilient mindset no matter what comes their way. The most wonderful part of this transformation is that once the mind shifts, it becomes irreversible. Children will feel the power coming from a position of confidence and literally anything is possible from that point onwards.

Parenting Coaching

EQ isn’t only beneficial for children; it is tremendously helpful for parents too. The centre also offers parenting coaching services for parents who are struggling with their children’s behavioural issues, finding it a challenge to manage their schedule, feeling frazzled, or trying hard to maintain the health of their marital/co-parenting relationship, to name but a few. Parents can schedule a strategy session to learn the tried and trusted EQ techniques which can help raise a more confident, secure child, while at the same time make them a happier, more fulfilled parent.
