With over 20 years of experience, Big Apple aims to provide quality education through experienced teachers and a conducive environment. Big Apple started in 1993 and currently have over 20 branches nationwide. Their school promises to deliver excellent early childhood education, with their state-of-the-art syllabus and books, to all aspiring enrollers.

Located inside a securely guarded condominium, Tadika Big Apple Ipoh Kiara is ready to welcome children starting ages 2 to 6 years old. Big Apple Ipoh Kiara, similar to all other Big Apple franchises, are registered under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), utilising their own syllabus adapted from the Standard National Preschool Curriculum (KPSK). That includes curriculum, teaching methods, learning materials, and even their own books! The school aims for wholesome development for each child.

Here, children are taught using a thematic approach that not only benefits them but is also fun and exciting! Activities are designed to keep children on their toes, making sure they don’t get bored while learning. Big Apple offers basic subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Arts & Craft, and Physical Education alongside enrichment subjects like Music, STEAM, Little Kitchen, Sand Play, Water Play, and Gardening. Children will be able to witness and take part in activities that mimic real life experiences. Cambridge English: Young Learner’s programme is also available at the school.

The school provides Taska services for children age 2 to 3 years, while 4 to 6-year olds will attend Tadika, available as Full day and Half day programmes. Big Apple Ipoh Kiara is also a Cambridge English Exam Center.

Exciting enrichment such as STEAM, arts & craft, and a new programme “Train Your Skills”, are incorporated into the syllabus, engaging step-by-step methods to make children understand better, and enjoy a hands-on, DIY experience. Aside from that, other interesting and stimulating activities for the kids such as fashion shows, where children have to use their creativity to create the best-looking outfit out of recyclable materials. Young Entrepreneurs Day is another fun event done at the school, where real money is used during transactions to help children understand and apply currency & maths into their daily lives. Mini zoos, with live animals, also happen on campus. What’s more interesting is that Big Apple Ipoh Kiara is the one and only branch that features a cool outdoor gym!

Big Apple’s annual sports days, concerts and graduations, festivities celebrations, and storytelling, help mould each child into a well-rounded, wholesome individual.

With so many exciting activities, one cannot help but wonder about the facilities used. The school has fitted tailor made, child-sized amenities to ensure that everything is reachable and accessible for the little ones. Specially designed spaces for enrichment activities such as a dedicated kitchen for Little Kitchen activities, an outdoor gym, E-Learning spaces, a greenhouse, and so much more at Big Apple to give the best to each child. Spacious classrooms and open areas allow for a conducive and comfortable learning. The school premises are fitted with CCTVs to ease the monitoring of children, while auto gates and alarm systems are in place for maximum security. Only designated pick up person stated in the registration form are allowed to fetch children, but in case of any emergency, the school will always double check with parents before releasing their child.

Passionate teachers make learning happen, and that’s why at Big Apple, they take things very seriously. All of Big Apple’s educators are burning with a passion and love for children and educating. With some teaching materials prepared in-house, it’s a relief to know that teachers here have at least a background in handling kindergarten or is a certified Early Childhood Educator. Nurturing children is no easy feat; thus, teachers are constantly receiving training in various fields of ECCE, gearing up to use latest methods to develop and nurture these children.

Not only is Big Apple dedicated towards children, but their dedication is also reflected towards parents. Parents are welcomed anytime to ask questions, especially regarding their child’s upbringing at the school. Constant updates through calls and WhatsApps will make parents breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their children are in capable hands. Big scale events such as Sports Day, Young Entrepreneurs Day, annual concerts, and Cambridge English Graduation ceremonies encourage the involvement of parents and help them bond with their child. Report Card Day is held bi-annually, which allow space for the school and parents to dissect their child’s progress, achievements and setbacks, and figure out ways to help their child excel.

With the school’s continued efforts to keep supporting children’s education, they have launched an online learning platform – gurupanda. It uses a carefully curated selection of study materials that combines animated videos and interactive quizzes to make learning more effective. The e-lessons are guided by topics that are part of the Malaysian preschool curriculum, covering subjects such as English, Mathematics, Malay and Mandarin. Children can now learn anywhere, anytime, at their own pace.
