Amazing Seed Twenty8 at I-City township in Shah Alam is an expansion of the school’s long-standing belief in early childhood education, built upon more than 20 years of experience from the founder, and research & practical work from its existing Subang Jaya branch.
For Puan Zalina (Founder), opening in Shah Alam is about bringing what Amazing Seed has established over the years to a new community. With many young and working parents in the area, she hopes the school can play a big part in supporting families and giving their children a meaningful start in life.
Starting From a Seed
There is a beautiful story behind the name Amazing Seed. Puan Zalina shared that the school’s journey began with an usrah centred on strengthening children’s faith through good morals. From there came the name “Amazing Seed”, inspired by the belief that a good seed, given the right care and nurturing, can grow into a mighty tree.
That same belief continues to shape Amazing Seed Twenty8, I-City, Shah Alam. As an Islamic preschool, the school combines early childhood education with Islamic teachings, encouraging children not only to learn these values but to practise them in their everyday lives. Islamic recitations and doa are incorporated into lessons and activities, making faith and good values a natural part of their daily routine.
Fun, Play-Based Learning
The school follows Malaysia’s Standard National Preschool and PERMATA Curriculum, complemented by play-based and thematic learning. Storytelling is also woven into daily lessons, helping children understand concepts that may otherwise seem complicated.
English is used extensively in daily classroom interactions and activities, helping children become more confident in communicating from an early age. With many working and expatriate families in I-City, Amazing Seed can provide the stronger English-medium environment they may be looking for. However, Bahasa Malaysia remains a major part of the learning experience.
Beyond language, the school places great importance on learning through play. Children are encouraged to investigate and explore the world around them. The spacious activity area provides opportunities for exploration, sensory activities and hands-on play.

Learning According to Ability
This was one part of my conversation with Puan Zalina that I found particularly meaningful. At Amazing Seed, children are not simply grouped according to age. Their existing abilities and developmental readiness are taken into consideration. The idea is to help children master their foundations before moving on to the next stage.
If a six-year-old has not mastered certain reading, writing or practical-life skills, teachers return to the appropriate foundation. The goal is not to rush children, but to help them become genuinely competent and confident.
This philosophy also applies to children preparing for Standard One. Through assessments and customised activities, teachers can identify where a child needs support and work towards the competencies required for primary school. For Puan Zalina, readiness goes beyond reading and writing. Emotional stability, physical development, confidence, social skills and practical abilities are equally important.
This centre welcomes children from toddlers to 6 years old, with full-day and half-day programmes available, and daycare for primary level children up to 12 years old.

Only The Best Teachers
The teachers here are indeed amazing. Puan Zalina looks for educators who share the school’s philosophy of “Iman Before Knowledge.” Teachers have Early Childhood Education backgrounds or Kursus Asuhan PERMATA training, with continuous internal training.
Lesson plans are tailored to each class with fun, play-based activities. Children are assessed every three months using Amazing Seed’s Developmental Milestone Checklist to track their progress. Shah Alam branch’s low ratio setting provides an added advantage, where teachers can pay closer attention to individual milestones and abilities.
A Safe and Healthy Environment
The school is clean and provides spacious area for the children to enjoy their morning physical activities. is one of its appealing features. It gives children room to explore nature, enjoy messy play, take part in sensory activities, garden and even tackle obstacle courses. The school also organises educational field trips, annual concerts and graduation celebrations. Holiday programmes offer non-academic activities centred on skills, exploration and fun.
Puan Zalina believes children today need to be grounded. With increasing digitalisation, they need opportunities to connect with nature and simply enjoy being children. Reading and writing early do not automatically mean a child is ready for primary school.
Safety is also taken seriously, with strict entrance access and CCTV surveillance throughout the school. Only designated individuals can collect children, and the school confirms with parents if an unfamiliar person arrives for pick-up.
Keeping Parents in The Loop
Parents receive updates through dedicated WhatsApp groups and can follow their children’s activities through Amazing Seed’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The school also uses Twinklinc, a preschool and childcare management app, to streamline communication and keep parents updated on their child’s daily experiences and progress.
Parent-teacher meetings are held twice each academic year to discuss development and achievements. Each child also has a personalised Learning Journey File documenting their progress, giving parents a clearer picture of their child’s growth throughout their time in this Shah Alam branch.

After speaking with Puan Zalina, I came away with one thought that stayed with me: early childhood is not something that should be rushed.
For Amazing Seed, education goes beyond reading and writing. It is about strong foundations, confidence, emotional readiness, practical abilities and moral values. That is what this Shah Alam branch represents: an expansion of Amazing Seed’s belief in giving children the right start.
