Nestled between the busy neighbourhoods of Subang Jaya lies Amazing Seed, a huge, two-storey corner lot painted in calming colours. We were greeted warmly by the principal, Puan Zalina, as she ushered us in, sheltering us from the rain. Amazing Seed started their journey in 2018, and up to today, have over 30 schools under their name.
As I entered the school, I immediately felt the warm, welcoming environment that is Amazing Seed. Puan Zalina explained to me that Amazing Seed started from an usrah and it turns out that many participants from Puan Zalina’s circle are kindergarten operators. They all had a common goal: the strengthening of faith through morals. They agreed on the name Amazing Seed, which Puan Zalina explained that if a good seed is planted anywhere and given the right amount of nurturing, it will become a mighty tree one day.
The school applies the Standard National Preschool Curriculum with a mixture of play-based and thematic learning to enhance student’s learning experience. Amazing Seed uses a lot of storytelling in their daily lessons to make children understand better about complicated topics that may pop up once in a while. Here, they emphasize on nurturing each child so that they can be the best version of themselves and to always put importance on the Creator.
Amazing Seed encourages their students to be investigative and explore the world which means playtime is taken seriously at the school. Children will learn through play as they explore nature in the large garden located inside the school’s compounds. This preschool understands that no two children are the same, thus indefinite learning outcomes are to be expected. Each child at the school will learn at their own pace and their learning processes are respected and are not looked down upon.
Children at the school are not grouped by age but instead are grouped together by ability so they can progress with peers similar to themselves. The school accepts students starting from the tender age of 2 months up to 6 years old and offers full-day and half-day programmes to suit each family’s needs.

The teachers at Amazing Seed are, indeed, amazing. Puan Zalina only hires the best candidates that have the right mindset to apply the school’s philosophy: Iman Before Knowledge, into each child at the school. Teachers here are passionate and in love with nurturing children and possess Early Childhood Education background or have been trained with the Kursus Asuhan Permata module. Internal trainings are provided to assist teachers in polishing and developing their skills in various areas such as language and communication.
Lesson plans at the school are tailored to each class and incorporate fun, play-based learning activities to make children feel excited coming to school. Students are assessed every 3 months to make sure they are on track with their Developmental Milestone checklist. A Developmental Milestone checklist is a checklist made by the school to assess the child when s/he starts out at Amazing Seed, so that the teachers get an idea about their capabilities, and also acts as a guide as they progress further during their time at Amazing Seed.
The school is spread over two lots, one for the House of Babies and the Junior Classes while the other lot is dedicated for the Enrichment Classes. In between these two lots lies a spacious garden that is used for activities involving nature, exploring, and messy play with the children. Sometimes, they even have obstacle games too!
The school often holds field trips to interesting sites that are educational and fun for the kids. Annual concerts cum graduation are a must at Amazing Seed to celebrate the students and their developments. Holiday programmes are eagerly awaited by the children as they are non-academic, skill-based programmes, designed to allow children to explore and pick up new skills over the holidays.
Amazing Seed is fitted with gates, grills, and CCTVs to ensure safety of the children while at the school. Only designated persons are allowed for pick up, and if an unidentified person shows up to pick the child, the school will confirm with the parents before releasing the child.
Parents need not to worry about sending their child to Amazing Seed. The school keeps in contact with all the parents in special WhatsApp group to disseminate information and/or updates. Other than that, parents can check out pictures and videos of their children participating in exciting activities on Amazing Seed’s Facebook and Instagram page. As always, parent-teacher days are held twice in an academic year to allow the space for parents and teachers to come together and discuss about their child’s development, successes, problems, and how to overcome them. Each child’s progress is recorded in a ‘File of Learning Journey’ to make it easier for parents to view their child’s progress.
Parents, if you’re looking for a preschool that realises a balance between academic, social, and moral skills are important for your child’s growth, look no further because Amazing Seed is definitely the place to send your child to as they will grow to become mighty Trees one day.
