Bang the drum, sing a song, listen to the sounds, tap the sticks, play the keys – you have arrived at Fusion Music Studio. It is a fun, nurturing space for children to develop their brains while experiencing the joy of music learning. The centre is housed in a shop lot with individual teaching studios that are fully equipped with pianos, keyboards, drums and early music exploration equipment. Founded by Amanda Ong, a music educator with over 15 years of teaching experience, Fusion Music Studio aims to see children from different backgrounds come together and share a love for music. More importantly, every child that walks through the doors of the studio is treated as an individual. Whatever their capacity, lessons will be delivered to them with a personalised approach. It all begins with an in-depth understanding of every parent’s goals and expectations of their children’s learning outcomes.
The centre recognises that music is one of the best vehicles for early brain development and one of their most well-known programmes is Orffie Friends. It is an early childhood music programme that utilizes a child-centred way of learning called The Orff Approach. This approach introduces children to music in a way that is familiar to them, such as through playing, singing, moving, games and simple percussion instruments. This makes it easy for them to understand a wide variety of musical concepts.
Exposing children to music education early ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including social-emotional, motor, intellectual and language. Plus, music brings joy!
This parent-accompanied class introduces little ones to the developmental benefits of music through interactive songs, rhymes, creative movement, percussion instruments and more. Such early exposure to music benefits children’s development in all areas from intellectual and expressive language skills to social-emotional and cognitive development.
Stage 2 is an encouraging experience that is geared towards preliminary musical elements, pretend play, solfeggio singing, ear training and ensemble playing before moving on to the keyboard programme. Lessons are based on exciting themes and a selection of props to make things fun and engaging.
The structure for music learning intensifies with incremental introductions to chord identification, melodic and rhythmic dictation, music history and more. Every aspect of the programme remains to ensure that children are happy and develop a love for music.
Fusion Music Studio is a one-stop music learning academy that goes beyond a strong early childhood music programme. There are classes available for students to explore many different instruments, including piano, violin, guitar, drum and ukulele. Classes are carried out as a one-on-one lesson, as well as in small group settings, depending on age. Children have the option of learning for leisure, or towards the ABRSM, Trinity, Trinity Rock & Pop, LCM or RockSchool syllabus. There is something for everyone throughout the whole year with special holiday camps and music workshops. The days will be jam packed with games, activities and lots of musical fun. Children will laugh, learn, play and have the best time of their lives with fellow friends.
In addition, a very important aspect of music learning is having the opportunity to perform. Every student here is given a chance to grow with confidence and shine with grace as they are exposed to multiple performance opportunities, such as at concerts, graduations and competitions.
Teachers at Fusion Music Studio are experienced and highly committed to learning about student’s personal goals and helping them achieve their expectations. Besides their teaching credentials, they have warm, friendly personalities that will make every student’s learning experience here a rewarding and positive one.
