Babies & Casa is an early learning provider offering a classic Montessori education for children between the ages 8 weeks to 6 years old. Doctor Maria Montessori was a big believer that education should begin at birth. Taking heed of this philosophy, Babies & Casa made history when it became the first early childhood education provider in Malaysia to integrate infant care and nursery programmes into its Montessori-based curriculum. Taking its cue from the first Babies & Casa preschool in Mont Kiara, the recently-opened Babies & Casa preschool in Kajang continues to bring the gifts of Montessori education to diverse families living in the vicinity, fulfilling the promise of Maria Montessori.
Housed in a large two storey bungalow within the comfortable enclave of Taman Bukit Mutiara neighbourhood, Celeste Tan, its principal, seeks to offer more than just an educational facility a child attends in the morning. Using the Montessori educational model as the foundation of their educational philosophy, the principal went to great lengths to ensure that the school is also quaint with a homey feeling where smiles abound. Babies & Casa brings the familiarity of their home into the school to help the children feel more comfortable in their classroom. Familiarity breeds understanding. Consequently, they will be better able to focus on building healthy relationships and having a happy schooling experience.
Babies & Casa strives to be the best not only as a school, but also as a workplace, and as a community for families in Kajang. Our teaching staff is highly dedicated and qualified in what they do. The student-teacher ratio is low. And we have made it our priority to keep our school as supportive as it can be -- Celeste Tan
Babies & Casa uses the Montessori Method of education to teach a broad spectrum of young enthusiastic learners. The Method is scientifically based on the key developmental stages where each individual child is viewed as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning. Each lesson is thus designed to support and nurture children's needs and interests by providing them with learning experiences suited to their stage of development. Babies & Casa offers 3 Montessori classrooms for children of different age groups. Children learn in different ways depending on their developmental stage. Each class is thus designed to facilitate each phase of the child's development; taught by teachers and nurses who are trained and certified in child development, nursing, early childhood education and Montessori education.

Children are supervised by a qualified Montessori directress as well as trained nurses and teachers who are equipped with quality materials that offer the child the opportunity to grow and develop. The infants also participate in all reading, gym and music programs and work with age-appropriate Montessori equipment; designed to encourage independence and build their self-esteem from this tender age. |
Children explore new methods for movement and independence and the development of spoken language. They are also exposed to art, music, sensorial, mathematical critical thinking and practical life activities through many direct and indirect lessons. Group activities such as eating together, singing and stories provide young children with the experience feelings of belonging to a community; where they can grow and learn together. |
Children select their own activities and work independently at their own pace under the supervision of the Montessori teachers. These activities are to trigger children's curiosity in specific yet integrated areas of the classroom - Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture. Teamwork is encouraged when they are placed in small groups or come together for full class activities. |

Classrooms are bright spacious; designed to meet the needs of children in a specific age range. They provide a rich, natural environment for learning. Children are free to move around and they make independent choices and choose their own activities. The youngest children learn by watching the older children, and vice versa. They learn to collaborate in a non-competitive atmosphere. Each classroom is filled with enriching, multi-sensory materials that invite them to touch, think and experience. Through these interest-based activities, children learn to develop several key knowledge areas and skills that assist with their social, cognitive, physical and emotional development.
