The early history of libraries in Negeri Sembilan was through the establishment of a library at Jalan Dato’ Abdul Malek, Seremban, named as Sir Henry Gurney Library and was officially opened in 1978 under the Negeri Sembilan Public Library Corporation Enactment (1974). In 1978, PPANS served as a public library at the State Secretary Government Building at Jalan Dato’ Hamzah. In 2007, the State Government has relocated PPANS at Wisma UMNO Building whilst waiting for a permanent state library building for the Negeri Sembilan community.
